This website, stratatradies.com.au (the Platform), is operated by Jeffrey Blaszkowski trading as Strata Tradies (we, us, our), ABN 41 107 123 006, of PO Box 176, Oxenford QLD 4210.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access, correct or complain about it.

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with the Platform, we may collect:

  • Contractors / members: business name, contact name, email, phone, business address and service areas, trade categories, ABN, licence and insurance details, logo and images, profile content, and login credentials.
  • Visitors making an enquiry: your name, email, phone, building or suburb, and the details of your enquiry, which we pass to the relevant contractor.
  • Newsletter or marketing recipients: name and email address.
  • Prospective members we contact: publicly available business contact details (such as a business email conspicuously published on a website or business listing) used to invite relevant strata trades to join.
  • Automatically: technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and similar analytics data collected via cookies and similar technologies.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities.

3. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you: when you register, complete your profile, submit an enquiry or contact form, subscribe to updates, or correspond with us.
  • From publicly available sources: where we identify a relevant strata trade whose business contact details are conspicuously published, for the purpose of inviting them to join the Platform.
  • Automatically: through cookies and analytics when you use the Platform.

4. Why we collect, use and disclose your information

We use personal information to:

  • create, operate and display contractor profiles and the directory;
  • receive enquiries and route them to the relevant contractor;
  • provide, maintain, improve and secure the Platform;
  • communicate with you about your account, enquiries and the service;
  • send marketing and updates where permitted (see section 6);
  • comply with our legal obligations.

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Contractors: enquiry details are provided to the contractor you contact.
  • Service providers: hosting, email, analytics, image optimisation and similar providers who help us operate the Platform (including Automattic Inc./WordPress.com and Jetpack, whose servers may be located outside Australia).
  • Professional advisers and authorities: where reasonably required or permitted by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example, our website host and email/analytics tools) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

6. Direct marketing and unsubscribing

We may send you marketing communications where we have your consent or where it is otherwise permitted under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), for example, an invitation relevant to your business sent to a conspicuously-published business address.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time by using that link or by emailing hello@stratatradies.com.au. We will action unsubscribe requests within 5 business days and keep your address suppressed from future marketing.

7. Cookies and analytics

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the site works.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including SSL encryption, access controls and security monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@stratatradies.com.au. Members can also update their profile, projects, licence and insurance details in their dashboard. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.

10. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Unsubscribe and suppression records are retained to honour your opt-out.

11. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us at hello@stratatradies.com.au and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
